The Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences and the V4Sport Foundation have launched the “Education in Motion” project.
“Exercise can replace any medicine, and teachers are ambassadors of physical culture who will influence children and their parents,” said the Rector, Dr. Tadeusz Stefaniak, Prof. at the Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences, during the conference opening.
The meeting showcased EDUball and mini EDUball educational balls as a method of learning through movement and play. The project is well-known not only in Poland but also internationally. The initiative is being carried out by a team of researchers led by Prof. Dr. Andrzej Rokita, Dr. Ireneusz Cichy, Prof. at the Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences, and Dr. Sara Wawrzyniak.
“Education in Motion” is a response to the growing challenges associated with the sedentary lifestyle of children and its negative consequences for their health and educational process. The initiative, awarded by the European Commission in the #BeActive competition in the “Education” category, proves that learning can and should take place through movement – both at school, in preschool, and at home.
This event provides a unique opportunity to:
- Explore the objectives of the “Education in Motion” project.
- Discover global trends in the field of Physically Active Learning.
- Share experiences and establish valuable connections with individuals involved in the implementation of this innovative initiative.
- Support teachers in incorporating movement into daily activities through innovative educational materials.
As part of the project, 200 groups from Wroclaw’s preschools and primary schools have been selected for the next stage, gaining access to a rich educational library that will transform their teaching methods. Now, instead of sitting throughout the entire lesson, jumping, spinning in circles, or waving hands during class – it’s not only allowed, but actually recommended!
