On April 3-12, 2019. employees of the Department of Team Sports Games: Dr. hab. Andrzej Rokita Prof. AWF, and Dr. hab. Ireneusz Cichy, stayed in the United States of America, where they visited two universities and took part in the largest Congress for physical education teachers in the USA, “Shape America”.
The first university visited was the University of North Georgia (College Dahlonega), where an agreement was signed between our Academy, represented by the Rector, and UNG, represented by President Bonita Jacobs. The signing of this agreement creates opportunities for cooperation, primarily scientific, for our employees and students under the Erasmus plus program.
During the visit to both College Dahlonega and College Gainesville (both belonging to the University of North Georgia), employees of our University conducted lectures and practical classes for students and university employees.
The second university visited by Prof. Rokita and Dr. hab. Cichy, był University of Central Floryda w Orlando. It is the largest university in the United States, with nearly 65,000 students. Lectures and practical classes on the use of educational balls in early school education were also presented here.
The last stage of the journey was participation in the SHAPE America National Convention, which was attended by over 3,300 physical education teachers. It is the largest event of this type in the USA, which, in addition to practical workshops and scientific lectures, is also a place for the presentation of the latest sports equipment by over 50 of the largest companies operating in this industry.
During Shape America, Prof. Rokita and Dr. hab. Cichy presented the possibilities of using BRAINball educational balls, as our “EDUballs” are called in the USA.
